Tax allowances
Low emission cars and vans are currently:
- Exempt from VED (road tax)
- Eligible for 100% capital allowances
- Subject discounted car benefit rates where used by employees.
Other savings
- In some areas low emission cars benefit from 100% congestion charge discount and free parking.
- The typical cost of electricity to charge an electric vehicle is approximately* £0.0310 per mile, compared to fuel costs of £0.1611 per mile. *According to the Society of Motor Manufactures.
