Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a one-off £1,000 grant for ‘wet-led pubs’ within Tiers 2 and 3 in lieu of Christmas trade.

Pubs that predominantly serve alcohol rather than provide food can apply for a one-off £1,000 grant to help make ends meet over the festive period.

  • It may be claimed by pubs “forced to reduce their operations” over the festive period.
  • The pubs must be in Tier 2 and 3 areas which restrict pub openings.
  • Pubs must apply through their local authority which will be responsible for distributing the grants.
  • The payment will be made once per business for the month of December only.
  • Payments do not affect a business’s eligibility for other COVID-related grants.
