HMRC have merged the two numbers previously used for tax evasion, and customs fraud, into one number as part of their efforts to streamline intelligence gathering on tax fraud.
The service can be used to report the following:
- PAYE/National Insurance fraud
- Tax Credit fraud
- VAT fraud
- Failure to pay UK duty
- Undisclosed Offshore Investments
- Tax Evasion
The number is 0800 788 887 and is available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
For those who would prefer a more impersonal approach, there is also a structured email that allows for online notification here, and a postal address. Due tothe COVID-19 pandemic HMRC are currently unable to accept reports sent by post.
